Command:  .set                                                Level: 0

 Syntax:  .set <option> <setting>

Results:  This command allows a user to set various user attributes
          that can control the way the terminal functions or things
          that you wish to have available for others to see

To get a list of keywords, type:  .set
To see your settings now,  type:  .set show
To set you email address,  type:  .set email <address>
To clear your email addr., type:  .set email -c  or  .set email clear
To specify your gender,    type:  .set gender <gender>
To change your WWW page,   type:  .set homepage <url>

To change the capitalization
of your name system-wide.  type:  .set recap <new_capped_name>

If you wish to have the system 
perform line wrapping for a
screen that is 80 chars. across:  .set cols 80
          
If you want the paging to use a
longer screen (instead of 24),
for a screen height of 40, type:  .set rows 40
          
To be able to use abbreviations
(Example: @ for who), toggle it:  .set abbrs
   
If you wish to toggle whether or 
not whitespaces get automatically 
removed before commands,   type:  .set space

If you are having problems with 
lines not advancing (VAX users):  .set car 1 -OR- .set car 0

If you want beeps to accompany
private communications,    type:  .set beeps

To change your home room (the
room you go to with .home) type:  .set home <room name>

To toggle whether or not the
.who listing is given to you in
pages,                     type:  .set pbreak

  Notes:
          DO NOT CHANGE THE COLS UNLESS YOU NEED TO. (ie. .set cols 80)
          This will reduce you responsiveness and may cause additional 
          lag for you.
